Your questions about
the DeepSleep Doona
Sizing, delivery, washing, who we are — the questions we get asked most, answered straight. If yours isn't here, just email us and a real person will reply.
Getting your doona to you
How long does delivery take?
Around 2 to 3 weeks in total, with free shipping across Australia.
We check and pack each doona individually, which takes 4 to 6 days. You'll then get a separate email with your tracking number as soon as it ships, and from that point it's 7 to 10 business days to your door.
One tip for when it lands: the doona is vacuum-compressed for shipping, so it'll look flat at first. Give it 24 to 48 hours to fluff up — shake it out and lay it flat or hang it, and it'll come up to its full loft.
How much is shipping?
Free — on every order, with no minimum spend and no hidden fees.
Where do you deliver to?
All of Australia, plus New Zealand and Canada. The final delivery leg within Australia is handled by Australia Post or Aramex, depending on your area.
How do I track my order?
You'll receive a tracking link by email the moment your parcel ships. You can also check any time on our Track my Order page using your order number or tracking number.
My tracking hasn't updated in a few days — is something wrong?
Almost certainly not. Tracking often goes quiet for a few days while your parcel moves between the international and Australian networks — it usually jumps straight from "in transit" to arriving at your local facility.
If it's been quiet for more than a week, email us and we'll chase it up with the carrier.
I haven't received an order confirmation — what should I do?
First, check your spam or junk folder — and if you find it there, mark it as "not spam" so your tracking email reaches you properly.
Still nothing? It's often because a different email address was entered at checkout. Email us at info@sleepclub-au.com with your name and address and we'll find your order and resend it.
My parcel is waiting at a post office or parcel locker — what now?
Bring photo ID and the collection card or notice Australia Post sent you. For a 24/7 parcel locker, you'll have received a collection PIN by SMS or email.
Parcels are usually held for about 10 business days — lockers for around 48 hours before moving to the counter. Collect within that window so it isn't returned to us.
And when you get it home: it's vacuum-compressed, so give it 24 to 48 hours to come up to full loft.
Can I change my size, colour or address after ordering?
Yes, as long as your order hasn't shipped yet. Email us as soon as you can at info@sleepclub-au.com and we'll update it. Once a parcel is on its way we can't change it — but we'll always find a way to make it right.
Choosing the right size
Which size should I choose?
Start with your bed, not the doona measurements — the sizes listed are the doona itself, and it should always be wider than your mattress so it drapes over the sides. All measurements are in centimetres, width × length.
- Single bed → 140 × 200
- King Single or Double → 168 × 229
- Queen, compact fit → 200 × 200
- Queen, extra coverage → 230 × 230
- King bed → 220 × 240
- Super King → 264 × 229
All six sizes are on the product page, with two matching pillowcases included free.
Is your King bigger than your Queen?
Longer, but not wider. Our King is 220cm wide — the Queen is 230cm. The King gains 10cm in length instead. So if it's extra drape over the sides you're after, the one you want is the Super King at 264cm wide.
I have a double bed — which size do I need?
A standard double is about 137 × 188cm. The King Single/Double 168 × 229 is the neat fit.
If you share the bed or simply like more coverage, go up to the Queen 230 × 230 — it gives roughly 45cm of drape each side and means nobody wakes up uncovered.
Can we use two doonas on one bed?
Plenty of our customers do, and they swear by it. One each means no tug-of-war and you each get the warmth you prefer. It works especially well on adjustable or split beds, where a single large doona gets dragged across when one side is raised.
How it works on the bed
How does it arrive?
Your doona arrives vacuum-compressed in a compact box — that's what keeps shipping free and the price where it is.
Give it 24 to 48 hours to reach full loft: shake it out well and lay it flat or hang it over a line. It plumps up to its full thickness and genuinely looks like a different doona once it has.
In a hurry? Hang it over the clothesline for a few hours and give it a few good shakes – it fluffs up faster with air moving through it.
Do I really not need a doona cover anymore?
No — and that's the whole point. The cover is sewn into the doona, so there's nothing to stuff, nothing to wrestle with and nothing to put back on after a wash.
Do I still need a fitted sheet?
Yes, your fitted sheet stays on the mattress. What the DeepSleep replaces is everything on top: the top sheet and the separate doona cover. You go from four pieces on the bed down to two.
Can I still put it inside a doona cover?
You can, if the cover is the matching size — some people like to change the look seasonally. Most skip it, since the cover's already sewn in and that's rather the point.
Do you sell matching fitted sheets?
Yes. Our EasyZip zip-on fitted sheet set comes in 7 colours, and the SoftCloud pillowcases come in the same 11 colours as the DeepSleep doona.
What colours do you have?
Eleven: Black, Brown, White, Beige, Light Blue, Dark Blue, Light Grey, Dark Grey, Green, Red and Orange. Pink and purple keep getting requested, so they're on the list for what we add next. See them all here.
Keeping it fresh
The short answers are below — the full Care Guide has everything, including stains and storage.
Will it fit in my washing machine?
Yes — every size, Super King included. It's lightweight microfibre, so it packs down far smaller than a wool or feather doona of the same size. No extra-large machine and no laundromat needed.
Just load it loosely so it can tumble freely, and use a gentle cycle. With an older machine under 6kg, keep the drum no more than half full.
How do I wash it?
Machine wash at 30°C on a gentle cycle with a small amount of mild liquid detergent. Add an extra rinse if you have sensitive skin. No bleach and no fabric softener — softener coats the fibres and makes it less fluffy.
Can I tumble dry it?
No, please line dry it. The care label says line dry, so skip the tumble dryer. The microfibre is light enough that it air-dries quickly — across two lines outside or draped over a clothes airer indoors.
How often should I wash it?
Every 2 to 4 weeks suits most people — or as often as you like. Weekly is a good idea if you have allergies or pets on the bed. That's the whole advantage: there's no cover in the way, so the doona itself actually gets clean.
Will the filling clump or shift over time?
No. Clumping happens when filling sits loose inside a shell and migrates. Ours is quilted through in sections, so the fill is held in place and can't shift to one end. Give it a shake when you make the bed and it stays even.
Will the colour fade or run?
Wash dark colours separately for the first one or two washes, skip the bleach, and dry dark colours in the shade — strong Australian sun fades colour over time.
How it sleeps
Is it suitable for both summer and winter?
Yes — it's built as a year-round doona. The ThermoBalance fill traps warm air in winter, while the microfibre stays breathable and moisture-wicking, so heat doesn't build up the way it does under a thick wool or feather doona.
Do you sweat under it?
No. Moisture escapes instead of sitting against your skin — that's exactly what makes it feel different from a heavy wool or feather doona, which traps both heat and damp. It also helps that there's no extra cover layer on top.
Is it warm enough for a cold winter night?
Yes. Warmth comes from trapped air, not weight — the quilted ThermoBalance fill holds a layer of warm air against you without the bulk. Plenty of our customers in cooler parts of Australia use it right through winter.
What's inside
What is the DeepSleep made from?
Cover: soft, breathable microfibre, 100% polyester — durable and fully machine washable.
Filling: our ThermoBalance climate-regulating fibre — lightweight, temperature-regulating and shape-retaining.
Is it certified?
Yes — certified to OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100, meaning every component has been lab-tested for harmful substances. It's certified in Product Class I – the strictest of the four classes, with the same limits used for baby textiles.
Certificate no. 26.HCN.31710
→ Verify it on oeko-tex.com
→ Download the certificate info (PDF)
Is it suitable for allergy sufferers?
Yes, and it's one of the main reasons people switch. Dust mites build up in doonas that almost never get washed — and most doonas almost never get washed, because they're too bulky. Yours goes in the machine whenever you like. There's no down or feather in it either, and it's certified to OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 (Product Class I).
Why is it more hygienic than a regular doona?
Because you wash the actual doona, not just a cover.
A cover only protects the surface — sweat, skin flakes and dust still pass through into the doona underneath. And be honest: when did you last wash the doona itself? With the DeepSleep, the whole thing goes in the machine every single time.
Buying with confidence
How does the 40-night trial work?
Sleep on it properly for up to 40 nights — wash it, live with it, make up your mind after. If it's not right, just email us and we'll sort it out, and there's no return shipping cost to you. Start your 40 nights.
Are returned doonas resold?
Never as new. Every order we send out is brand new and sealed, straight from our warehouse. Returned doonas don't go back into sellable stock — full stop.
Where are your doonas made and shipped from?
Sleep Club is operated by Skypia Brand Group LLC, a US-registered company, and Sleep Club AU is our Australian arm — Australian sizing, Australian customer care, fill tuned for our climate. All prices on our site are in Australian dollars (AUD).
Our doonas are made and shipped from our overseas partner warehouse. That's the honest answer, and it's how we can offer a 2-in-1 doona with the cover sewn in from $129.99 instead of the $300+ you'd typically pay here. More about who we are.
What payment methods do you accept?
Visa, Mastercard, American Express, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Shop Pay — all with the buyer protection those providers offer.
I'm having trouble at checkout — what can I do?
Try switching payment method, or close the tab and start fresh — PayPal in particular can drop out if the page has been open a while. If it still won't go through, email us and we'll set the order up for you personally and send a secure payment link.
How do I contact you, and how fast do you reply?
Email info@sleepclub-au.com or call +61 468 147 697. We reply within 6 to 24 hours, weekends included.

Emma and Tom from our care team answer every email personally, usually within 6 to 24 hours.
